I would recommend this game BUT with one major proviso - if you want the battles with the various monsters\/enemies to be skill based as in Sorcery and\/or Warlock do not bother with this one - as it is based on Luck only (IE the roll of a dice ONLY) - otherwise I would recommend playing it for the fun of it, as the challenge lies in finding the artefacts you need to get through the dungeon - IE in deathtrap and its sequel - Trial Of Champions - this will more than likely take you several attempts especially if you choose legends mode where you only get 3 lives.Great scenery, graphics and artwork make it a pass but as earlIER stated the battles are luck based ONLY. If you like Ian Livingstone & Steve Jackson's classic gamebooks then you will probably love this game, presented in almost the same format as it's predecessor "Fighting Fantasy Legends". This time the three classic gamebooks brought together are "Deathtrap Dungeon", "Trial Of Champions" & "Armies Of Death". They are presented as a trilogy adventure, but with various twists. The combat system uses different syle dice, which can be upgraded\/penalised and the encounters in many locations are drawn from a random card pack (monsters\/events\/items\/traps).You travel around the map of Allansia to Fang, Zengis & beyond, but unlike the first FFL game, the three adventures are played separately this time. You cannot move between them. Once again the maps and scenery look great.Choose from three different player-characters (i like the Paladin) & if you sign into your Asmodee account you can also use one of the three characters from the first FFL game (including the elf :FFElf: yay!) Choose from various skills\/bonuses that you can start with. There are three difficulty levels, each of which has different enemy strengths and a different number of player lives. Sadly the "hardcore hero" option (only one life) has been scrapped this time. I assume this is because it is impossible to complete TOC in this version in one life. There can be a certain repetitiveness if you play long enough to complete all achievements etc, but the game is so enjoyable and the rules are so simple that it is great fun and the developers have certainly achieved the most important thing of all - they have perfectly captured the nostalgia of the original books. This game is very good v.f.m.I really hope that Nomad Games decide to translate some more of these gamebooks to this format either as DLC expansions or newgame trilogies. Thank-you!. Fan of the books when I was but a wee lad. Here's hoping they continue to release the other books at a reasonable price as I would purchase them.. This 'game' has absolutely zero redeeming qualities.
